La notion de vulnérabilité connaît une multiplication de ses occurrences dans la jurisprudence de la Cour européenne des droits de l’homme. L’identification et la classification des diverses vulnérabilités s’accompagnent d’une mise en évidence de l’unité de la notion, qui ressort, malgré l’absence de définition générale, de la cohérence de l’approche européenne. La reconnaissance de la vulnérabilité a pour enjeu une protection spéciale dont les diverses dimensions, la nature, et la mesure sont analysées au regard de la protection communément accordée en droit européen des droits de l’homme.
