A Regulação da Água no Direito Europeu e sua Interface com o Direito Humano à Água
Keywords:

The aim of this paper is to analyze whether European Union Law is consistent with the human right to water. Accordingly, the paper presents the development and legal construction of the human right to water in the international legal system, specifying its adequacy factors and essential obligations. Then, the paper analyzes, considering these normative elements, the eventual convergences or divergences with the directives adopted on water resources in the context of the ordinary legislation of the European Union. It is concluded that, although not explicitly recognized, the human right to water is protected in a reflexive way by European Union Law, which is an important framework for the universalization of this right.
