Desafios da Educação na Construção dos Sentidos de Direitos Humanos

This article discusses, based on bibliographic research, the construction of meanings attributed to the term Human Rights. The objective of the study was to analyze the challenges of human rights education in the resignification of the senses and continuity in the struggle for social and human rights. Furthermore, we defend, based on Lopes (2012), that the meanings of Human Rights are the result of demands and political negotiations and constructed in context. Theoretically, we dialogue with a base that strives for conceptual decentralization, mainly with Laclau (2011) and Lopes (2012), of the term Human Rights, which can assume different meanings built in the social context, from demands, influences and negotiations of meanings. We draw attention to the role of education in human rights in the reflection and problematization of the meanings of Human Rights, especially its resignification and counter- hegemonic struggle of the term, warning that the meanings are constructed through conflicts and interests that arise discursively.
